It's already the home of the world's only sevenstar hotel, and work has begun on an underwater hotel and despite summer temperatures of up to 120F an indoor ski slope with more than 6,000 tons of snow. Try the Autumnal Berries cocktail, a divine concoction of pur blackberries and blueberries topped with Champagne. Choose a table in the shade of the palm trees overlooking one of Dubai's best beaches and take your pick from lobster, chicken or lamb (all barbequed to perfection). For casual lunches on other days, the Limetree caf (next to the Jumeirah mosque on Jumeirah Beach Road; 4349 8498) is a popular place serving a delicious range of salads, sandwiches and cakes. Sit indoors or on a cushioned banquette on the shaded terrace. The carrot cake a threetiered triumph of gooey sponge and buttercream icing is highly recommended. I'd start with an ap on the outside deck and then head indoors for live music from an excellent pianist, and dinner under a glassdomed roof. Not only is it the best way of seeing the creek at night but the gourmet French food is fabulous.
